×We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Purchase Manager to oversee the complete procurement and material management process for our fire & safety projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for vendor management, material sourcing, negotiation, purchase order creation, and coordination between clients, engineers, and stores to ensure timely delivery of quality materials at competitive prices.
Procurement Planning:
1. Develop and implement purchase strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets.
2. Coordinate with project engineers and site teams to understand material requirements.
Vendor Development & Management:
1. Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors and suppliers.
2. Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors for continuous supply support.
3. Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Purchase Operations:
1. Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (P.O.) in coordination with the accounts and engineering departments.
2. Verify vendor quotations, material specifications, and ensure compliance with technical requirements.
3. Follow up on order status, delivery timelines, and ensure on-time material availability.
Material Coordination & Logistics:
> Oversee material dispatch, transportation, and delivery to project sites.
> Coordinate with stores and site engineers for material receipt and proper documentation.
> Ensure inventory levels are maintained and prevent material shortages or overstocking.
> Invoice & Billing Coordination:
> Review vendor invoices, delivery challans, and GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes) for accuracy.
> Coordinate with the accounts team for timely vendor payment processing.
> Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, material receipts, and invoices.
> Cross-Department Coordination:
Key Skills & Competencies:
1. Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes.
2. Familiarity with fire & safety, piping, and industrial material specifications.
3. Excellent vendor negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.
4. Proficiency in MS Excel, Tally, and purchase documentation.
5. Ability to handle multiple projects and urgent purchase requirements.
6. Sound understanding of inventory management and logistics operations.
