Job Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Mechanical Design & Modeling

• Create configuration-specific SolidWorks assemblies and detailed part drawings including BOMs for industrial equipment and electrical enclosures.
• Model intermediate assemblies (typically 500+ components) ensuring Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• Utilize SolidWorks sheet metal tools for enclosure and fabrication design.

Team Supervision

• Supervising and guiding our Junior CAD Associate(s), reviewing their work and ensuring adherence to design standards.
• Allocating assignments, reviewing drawings, and providing technical feedback.
• Supporting skill development of junior team member(s).

3D EXPERIENCE & Document Management

• Work within the 3DEXPERIENCE cloud platform to upload, revise, and manage models and drawings.
• Maintain organized records through PDM/document control systems.

Drawing & Documentation

• Prepare part drawings, assembly drawings, and fabrication documentation.
• Ensure all documentation aligns with project requirements and manufacturing specifications.

Design Revisions

• Implement engineering changes based on production feedback, project requirements, and/or client specifications.
• Maintain revision history and documentation traceability.

Quality Assurance

• Review all CAD outputs before release to manufacturing.
• Ensure designs are accurate, feasible, and compliant with applicable standards

Project Coordination

• Work closely with Project Engineers and fabrication teams.

• Ensure design deliverables meet project timelines and technical expectations.

Key skills for the position:

CORE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.

• 2–4 years of professional experience in mechanical design and CAD engineering.

• Intermediate-level proficiency in SolidWorks.

• Experience working with 3DEXPERIENCE and/or SolidWorks PDM.

• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and enclosure design.

• Ability to review CAD work and guide junior engineer(s).

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with SLDs (Single Line Diagrams).

• Knowledge of UL 891 and/or IEC 61439 standards.

• Prior exposure to industrial power distribution systems.

• Experience designing electrical enclosures or panel structures.
